In July 2004 Samsung announced the release of the ML-2250, ML-2251, and ML-2252W family of monochrome laser printers targeted at small-to-medium sized businesses. All models were OEM rated at 22 pages per minute (ppm) and up to a 30,000 page monthly duty cycle. Several other OEMs have released their own versions based on the Samsung ML-2250 print engine.
Low yield (3,000 page) and high yield (5,000 page) cartridges are available in most geographic markets for the ML-2250 family and equivalent printers, with OEM cartridge SKUs differing by region. ML-2250 cartridges are not chipped, however, the MFP versions and related licensed brands’ cartridges are chipped, with each one requiring its own cartridge-specific chip.
